How to Pack Before Moving

Introduction:

Hi everyone, welcome to Hevligt Movers' moving tips! Today, we will show you how to pack efficiently and safely before your big move. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Gather Supplies

First, gather all the packing supplies you'll need:

- Sturdy boxes in various sizes

- Packing tape

- Bubble wrap

- Packing paper

- Markers for labeling

- Scissors

Step 2: Declutter

Host: Before packing, take some time to declutter. Go through each room and decide what you want to keep, donate, sell, or toss. This will make packing easier and your move more cost-effective.

Step 3: Start with Non-Essentials

Begin by packing non-essential items first. You won’t need these things immediately, like off-season clothes, books, and decor. Label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to.

Step 4: Pack Room by Room

Pack one room at a time to stay organized. Use packing paper or bubble wrap to protect fragile items. Place heavier items at the bottom of the box and lighter items on top. Fill any gaps with packing paper to prevent items from shifting during transit.

Step 5: Label Boxes Clearly

Label each box with its contents and the destination room. Be specific – instead of just "kitchen," write "kitchen – pots and pans." This will make unpacking much easier.

Step 6: Keep Essentials Separate

Pack a separate box or bag with essentials you’ll need immediately after moving, such as toiletries, a change of clothes, important documents, and basic kitchen items. Keep this box with you during the move.

Step 7: Seal and Reinforce Boxes

Seal each box securely with packing tape, reinforcing the bottom and top seams. For extra protection, use double layers of tape.

And that’s it! Following these steps will make your packing process smoother and your move more efficient. For more moving tips and professional moving services, contact Hevligt Movers. Thanks for watching, and happy moving!
